Tuning The Kinera Skuld

Future is a mystery, it is a surprise, but there is one certainty that it will always come. Under this mystery, we all know there is a balance of the world. Our experienced engineers wants to convey this message of balance, this uncertainty with the Kinera Skuld. Skuld adopts a full BA configuration housing two our in-house customised BA units and three Knowles highly-renowned BA drivers, tuned by our professional engineers to deliver an experience you might have never experienced before. After tuning and testing by machines, we are surprised to see that our beloved Skuld has a smooth flat frequency response range with a difference of no more than 4dB in the 0-8kHz frequency range. This is our flattest frequency response curve after Kinera Odin. Flat frequency response doesnât mean it will be dull or less engaging by any means, we have made sure to make the Skuld convey emotions of your favourite music with great clarity, great resolution, and high transient dynamics. We are pretty sure you will love the dynamic and engaging sound will keep you hooked with all its clarity and detailing.

- 1X2 Kinera customized SWFK-31736 composite BA unit is made for treble, which is extremely strong ductility. Â Even ultra-high frequency after 20Khz that human ears can not hear, it can effectively and accurately present sound, Â provideing a wider sound stage support.
- Mid-range use 2X2 Knowles composite RAF-32873. Itâs a full frequency balance armature driver. Skuld acoustic design, which not only maintains mid and high-frequency excellent characteristics of sound density, resolution and smoothness, but also brings gentle sense of comfort.
- The bass uses Knowles CI-22955 BA unit. With excellent diving depth, it achieves smooth connection with mi-range and treble, which is natural transition.
High Quality Silver Plated Copper Cable With Balanced 4.4mm Termination

For the Kinera Skuld, we have designed an all-new 8-Core 192 strands silver-plated copper cable with a balanced 4.4mm termination plug. 4.4mm is becoming largely used balanced termination option that is being featured in most of the latest devices. The cable has PVC insulation coating to reduce any microphonic issues. High-quality silver-plated copper material allows smooth signal transmission with low internal resistance to the signal. This greatly improves the sound output with the Skuld, presenting the users with a powerful sound response complemented by a wide and open stage presentation.

"The Skuld took me by surprise in many aspects coming from past Kinera earphones and itâs admirable to see the huge strides the company has made over each generation of product. Mirroring the impressions of others, these are easily some of the most visually stunning IEM shell Iâve seen. Their compact and rounded profile with pressure relief vent also make them superbly comfortable and low profile. Similarly, the sound tuning also represents one of the most refined and natural takes from Kinera; compared to the Freya, I would not guess these were made by the same team as the Skuld is far more balanced, naturally voiced and technically impressive.
The main issue here lies not in the Skuld itself, but with the stiff competition it faces in its higher price class. I found it to be a mid-pack performer here and do think its unique and well-executed tonality will be its main call to fame. This is one for the vocal lover, mids being flattered with grand notes and enriched body yet, without any weirdness nor excessive tonal colouration. The treble is nicely extended, imparting openness and energy to counterbalance. The Skuld is an intersection between IEM design and art, a combination of great tuning and good technical ability that delivers one of the most coherent and layered presentations Iâve heard."

"I really like the Kinera Imperial Skuld for a few reasons. Although the adapters create long protruding plugs you do get some good choices of connectivity and the accessory list is ample. I was perfectly fine with that because I mostly used sources with a 4.4mm connection anyways but this was my only dislike.
What I like most about the Skuld is the non-fatiguing sound signature that lets you enjoy them for hours at a time. They tend to grow on you by not sounding impressive at first until you sit and listen for days and realize the high level of detail these IEMs produce.
This particular budget level has some pretty stiff competition but the Skuld sits comfortably in this group of usually aggressively tuned IEMs by being soft-toned, polite, and taking a top spot for being such a pleasant and easy to listen to IEM."

"Skuld, the latest offering from Kinera is an excellent choice for the people who like a flat frequency response to use it for a wide variety of genres. Previously I used the Kinera Norn which is pretty polar opposite where it sounded very energetic and bassy. Personally I liked it a lot. The skuld however is a no slouch hence the Norn and the Skuld compliment each other well. The Skuld is a versatile one thus it can be eqâd to your liking to match the genres you are listening to. The midrange is very sweet here by providing excellent details and the forward positioning made the whole experience engaging and energetic. The treble is well done here with a nice amount of air and the separation through the frequency is pretty nice. The low end here may not be the star show here but itâs done well for an all BA iem, itâs fast, tight, controlled but not the most punchiest, weighty or attacking one. The bass here is tuned in terms of technicalities hence the fun cant be expected here.
Overall the Skuld is an excellent choice for people who need some flatness and neutrality and thus retains the name AN UNCOLOURED CHAMPION."

It has the most smooth tuning I have heard at this price point. The highs are sweet, mids are dreamy and bass response is just smooth just like fine aged scotch. I wish I was currently having my high-end amps to check how much Kinera Skuld scale-up further especially in the lower frequency range. Still these Kinera Imperial Skuld produces one of the most transparent, sublime & beautiful mids which is hard to come over by any other IEM in its price range. And it just doesnât stop there. It has very smooth & detailed treble, produces superb dynamics & transients and has excellent Imaging, layering and soundstage.
